Planet 214 privacy policy
This policy explains what information the mobile game Planet 214 (for iOS and Android, made by South Pixel Studio, "we") collects, why, and what choices you have. We've kept it short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at southpixelstudio@gmail.com.
In short: no account, no login, no name, email, phone number or location. Your progress stays on your device. We collect anonymous gameplay stats, which you can switch off in the game, and ads appear only when you choose to watch one. We don't sell your data.
1. No accounts, no personal details
- The game doesn't ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and it has no chat.
- Your game progress is saved on your device only, not in the cloud. Uninstalling the game deletes it. You can also start over at any time with Settings > Reset game.
2. Analytics (Unity Gaming Services Analytics)
To balance and improve the game we use Unity Gaming Services Analytics, provided by Unity Technologies. It collects:
- a random install ID created by the game. It isn't linked to your name or any account;
- device model, operating system version and app version;
- your country, worked out from your IP address. Unity doesn't keep the IP address for us;
- when and how long you play: sessions, session length and total play time;
- gameplay events: level-ups, upgrades bought, ship destroyed, rewarded ads watched, meteorites, doors opened, ship parts installed and region jobs claimed;
- Ridium pack purchases: which pack, its price in your currency and the Ridium received. Never your payment details.
You can switch analytics off at any time in Settings > Privacy > "Share anonymous stats". After that, nothing more is sent.
3. Ads (Unity Ads)
The game shows rewarded video ads only, and only when you tap "watch ad" (for example, to earn a few Tritanium). There are no banner or forced ads. Ads are provided by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), which may use:
- your device's advertising identifier: on iOS, the IDFA, but only if you allow it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; on Android, the Google Advertising ID;
- your IP address and device data,
to show ads and measure how they perform. Unity's own policy explains this in detail: Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
To limit ad tracking:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads
4. In-app purchases
Optional Ridium packs are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which handle the payment entirely. The game never sees your card or payment details. It only receives confirmation that a purchase of a Ridium pack succeeded, so it can deliver the pack, and records it in the anonymous stats described in section 2 (unless you've switched them off).
5. Who we share data with
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone beyond the providers named above: Unity Technologies (analytics and ads) and Apple or Google (purchases).
6. Children
Planet 214 isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game and data was collected, email us and we'll have it deleted.
7. How long data is kept, and deleting it
Analytics data is kept by Unity for a limited period and then deleted. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing southpixelstudio@gmail.com. Please include the app name ("Planet 214") and, if possible, your install ID so we can find your records.
8. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- access the data held about you;
- have it deleted;
- object to its use, or withdraw consent.
Our legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you give or withdraw with the in-game "Share anonymous stats" switch. For data needed to run the game and deliver purchases, it is our legitimate interest in providing the game you chose to play. To use any of these rights, email southpixelstudio@gmail.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date.
